Do you enjoy the out-of-doors and the chance to work directly with the land? Then we've got the thing for you – our monthly workday. On the second Saturday of each month, volunteers help us steward one of two special sites owned by Libertyville Township.  These places are so ecologically valuable they're part of the Illinois Nature Preserve system. We provide tools and instruction, and volunteers help with projects such as weed control, seed collecting and planting. Trust us: it’s not too intense, and you’ll enjoy meeting other like-minded people.

We meet the second Saturday of every month, 9 a.m. to noon, at either Oak Openings in Grayslake or Liberty Prairie in Libertyville. Wear jeans and boots; we’ll bring gloves, water and nourishment.

We also have occasional workdays at other locations that are listed below too. Registration is suggested but not mandatory. Contact info@conservelakecounty.org with questions or to register.

Location and activity subject to on-the-ground conditions at that time. Check our website for most up-to-date information.
