Outreach and Education
Lake County residents have a strong tradition of caring about land and water conservation. We’re here to help. We give people the information and resources they need so they can join in, whether the project is large or small. Contact us for more information.
Presentations to groups
Is your corporation, club or civic group looking for a good presentation? Arrange for a content-rich program on either eco-friendly landscaping or open space preservation. We’ll keep it to 15 minutes or expand it to 55 – just let us know what your group needs.
Property visits through Conservation@Home
Your landscape can look beautiful while supporting the celebrated natural heritage of Lake County. Fairly simple steps go a long way toward helping the songbirds, butterflies and other beneficial wildlife making their homes here. We'll visit your property to learn about your land and goals, and help identify opportunities and challenges. Then we'll provide information to get you started. Learn More
Exhibit booth for green fairs and festivals
Are you organizing a green fair? Let your visitors learn about the good things happening right here in Lake County. We'll bring our trava55 exhibit booth to you. Our dates fill up quickly, especially near Earth Day, so be sure to reserve a date early.
Workshops, classes and other events
We all know there are limits to what we can learn on the internet. Treat yourself to an hour or two with an expert and some kindred spirits to explore a conservation topic. Check out our calendar of workshops, classes and social events – many of which are hosted by partner organizations.
Volunteer workday projects
If you prefer to learn by doing, then put the computer and classroom aside and take part in one of our monthly workdays. These are held at two beautiful nature preserves in central Lake County and are offered in partnership with Libertyville Township. Trust us: it's not too intense, and we'll provide instruction and tools. View Calendar
